Mister doctor eye doctor, spill the tea!! Also, as someone who wears glasses, my vision field sucks most of the time. But my eyes are too dry for contacts to be comfy (also astigmatism means they go a little out of focus whenever I blink, which gets SUPER annoying)

As I am watching this, my 79 year-old father is using a posthole digger to put up a 6x6" post in 90° weather for a new mailbox that someone hit last night. Our neighbor, whose mailbox was also hit, offered to dig it with his tractor and my old man said "for one post? I'll just dig it by hand."

The ONLY thing "ensured" in the USA's present, "Winner take all" ("private") health "insurance" "system" (pardon all the quote marks!), is that WE (the American people) have rolled over and allowed our precious health to become merely another Profit Center for sociopathic billionaires. "Only in 'Murka."

Covid had a >98% survival rate. For every sick person in the hospital many more lived and did well. When you’re around death all day one forgets that there is life in other places.

uh... I am old and was unaware that the current false eyelash trend was so non-temporary. In my day you bought them at the drugstore, they went on over your real lashes and everyone knew you were supposed to remove them every night. Probably still not without risk to your eyes, but my goodness I cannot imagine being convinced that you should attach something like that more durably to you eyelids. Kinda horrified about this tbh.

Yet these are the same people who vote against healthcare being cheaper or healthcare for all. Yet if this one domino falls over either by leaving or not accepting barter and trade (a foundational communist ideal) they would have nothing else to help them out

I really loved getting them and I feel like a zombie without them but I once got periorbital cellulitis and my vision is forever worsened since. Your lashes and looking 20% better is not worth your vision. And hell if you're in a non government healthcare country, potential medical debt to treat the issues you'll inevitably get.

This is why I am so grateful that my husband has a medical reimbursement account through his union to supplement our insurance I get from my work. (My employer, majority of my medical care, and my medical insurance are all one company.) I said fuck it to my insurance, used the MRA and had my wheelchair in a month. I knew that because I am an ambulatory user, it would be an absolute nightmare trying to get them to cover it. (They already denied the medication I need for my autoimmune disorder *3 times* before they finally approved it.) It's almost as if this is a thing I need *now* so I can do things... like work my job...

So if someone were to get a not densely packed not super long version it might not be as bad? Because these are extreme volume and they have a 1:1 ration so you get 1 added to each standard eyelash. I'm asking because I have an appointment scheduled for them for a wedding/vacation but I'm not planning on having them after that

Hey! I’m not looking for free medical advice, I have an eye doctor… but… I want to tell you about how I developed blindness! I had a ruptured brain aneurysm! And lived! You just never hear this. I’ve had my vision restored in one eye and am getting my vision restored in the other eye next month via vitrectomy. I think congratulations are in order for all you doctors out there. Good job, Dr. McFarland!!! (Or as we call you in private convo Dr. Brad Pitt. SO handsome!)
